Naviance is a web-based program the counseling office uses to communicate with parents and students, to access college preparation information, to find up-to-date scholarship information, career exploration resources, and a list of various opportunities for students. Once registered, you will receive helpful emails directly from the counseling office. Please contact your counselor for your access code.

The Renate Wheelock Scholarship

Renate Wheelock Scholarship This is a scholarship given in memory of Renate Wheelock, a beloved Social Studies teacher and department head at MAUHS for over thirty years. During her time at Mt. Anthony, she was a passionate teacher, a life-long learner, a visionary in her field, and a global explorer with a strong commitment to her students and the surrounding community. An award of $2000 will be given to the recipient of this scholarship to assist in further education.

Application Criteria

  • Member of the graduating class at Mt. Anthony Union
  • High School
  • Accepted at a 4-year college
  • Passion for learning and the social sciences
  • Interest in one or more of the following:
    1. Education
    2. Global Issues
    3. School and Community Involvement
    4. Civic Responsibility

Application Requirements

  • High School transcript
  • Completed Application
  • Two letters of Recommendation (One faculty and one community member (non-relative) to address your qualifications for this scholarship)
  • Written Response #1: Select one word that best describes you and in 75 words or less explain why this word characterizes you best
  • Written Response #2: In 75 words or less, tell the committee about your most notable accomplishment to date.
  • Written Response #3: In 300 words or less, select an issue of importance to you today, and describe how you envision making a difference in that area in the future.


Deadline for completed applications: May 15th to Guidance Office

Committees:

Selection Committee: Five members of Social Science Core to choose award recipient. Alan Wheelock will read finalist’s applications for non-binding approval after committee forwards them to him.

Financial Committee: (Principal, Head of Department and Bank representative)
Correspondence Committee: (re: acknowledgement of donations)
Presentation Committee: (Awards night/Wheelock family first year)
