Mission Statement
The faculty of Monument Elementary School believes that education concerns the growth of the whole child. Cognitive, affective, and psychomotor growth each are vital in the learning experiences of a child and are interrelated. In creating this learning environment, the staff:
- aims to establish an enjoyable, comfortable and least restrictive atmosphere.
strives for each child to have a positive self-image. Each child is a unique individual with different learning styles which include visual, auditory, and tactile. Each child learns at his/her own rate according to his/her developmental level. There is a trust in the child and a respect for each child’s diversity.
- encourages growth in responsibility, independence, and decision making. The child is an active participant in the educational process.
- provides an integrated curriculum that is child-centered and subject-centered.
- views ourselves as facilitators we recognize the need for our own personal and professional growth.
- recognizes the value of parental and community involvement.
